Good variety of choices, delicious, tasty dishes. Service was a little on the slow side but the quality of the food made up for it. We were shocked to hear other diners complaining vociferously to the young staff about the length of time their meals had taken. In these exceptionally trying times for the hospitality industry, a little understanding from patrons goes a long way. Staff are up against it, are under huge pressure and are trying their best. Be kind, be empathetic and leave a tip!
I have been a few times to the Olive Tree, sitting inside and out. Both lovely areas. Every time I have visited, the staff have always been friendly, polite and helpful. The food and drinks are delicious. They have the best coffee! Everything is homemade and freshly cooked to order so there can be a wait when they are busy but it's well worth it. For a large group of us, I always book a table as they can get full up quickly.
Upon arrival, we were directed to seat ourselves by a flustered waitress shouting from across the room. Despite the relatively low number of customers, we were informed of a 45-minute wait for food. Feeling like a burden and unappreciated, we decided to have a drink and contemplate our options. However, the waitress never returned to take our order, leading us to ultimately leave the restaurant.
While waiting for the National Trust to open, went down to this absolutely delightful restaurant. The service was second to none with totally attentive pleasant people who were very knowledgeable. The restaurant has a lovely and airy decor with a spring-like pastoral feel, featuring Shaker furniture and a charming courtyard. Dogs are now welcome and even receive treats. The lunch menu is good, especially for savory options. However, the cakes are not as impressive. It is recommended more for lunch than for afternoon tea.
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff was excellent, the prices were affordable, the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning in the future.
Went for lunch great ambiance and super friendly efficient service. A good selection of Menu choices our lunch was delicious. Only negative is the outside toilet a bit chilly this time of year!

Sunday morning breakfast. Actually pretty decent food and a good pit of tea for £8. It's a nice cafe in the centre of melford.
