I will not return to this restaurant due to a racist treatment by its worker. I have been a regular and recently went back for my favorite, chicken with a couple of sides. After placing the order for lunch as usual, while I was waiting, the worker who took my order started addressing me to other workers and customers as estate Chinito (this Chink in my face. This woman even swapped my order with that of someone who came later than I did. I guess the worker apparently is new to the establishment (because I have not seen this woman before and she did not know that I spoke fluent Spanish but it was insulting nonetheless. Ordered delivery of The Original American Chicken and it quickly became together and into my hands within half an hour. I chose a family dinner: 1 whole chicken, Pita bread and 2 pages. $18.50 if the order in-store, but with the delivery there was about $25 including tax and service fee. There is a decent selection of 20 pages, but not many of them have impressed me. I ended up with a potato salad and Yuca/Cassava. The potato salad is not bad, but the Yuca was a bit dry and tasteless. The chicken was good and damp! It is slightly seasoned so that I added some of my own spices above, because I like extra flavors
Doesn't look like a great big establishment. But it fits quite a enough people inside. They have plenty of people coming in and out. I have ordered the white meat chicken with the 2 sides plantains rice and beans. So delicious!! You get your monies worth here. They are always pleasant and friendly. They have a small eating area with 2 tables. But for the most part everyone gets there food to go. They have a wonderful desert selection to choose from.
Very recommended. This tiny place sells hundreds of chickens every day - that tells you everything you need to know. And they also make ribs good. Portions are huge You get two pages from a variety of about 2 dozen. They make their own spice sauces to give you on the page, and service is quickly ideal for large orders. There is little to criticize here. There are a few small but comfortable tables, but takeout or delivery would be ideal.
the two things that punish this place, from everything, it can really cook up to two things: service and eat. most places can come with at least one of the two, but if both are faltering, then it is a hard sale overall. the remaining two stars are for fast delivery and relatiw solid prices. Just ordered from the chicken breast with a side of rice and broccoli. They mentioned that the chicken was just being done so it would be a ten minute wait. Cool on my end. When they gave me my plate the chicken was so stale and hard. I felt that it was raw and not ready yet. Also, the portion was pretty small for the price (almost 13 dollars). Wouldn't go back. Perhaps they can work on the chicken
I love American Chicken! Throwing a party? Just looking for a quick bite? AC has grilled/broiled chicken along with a number of different sides. The ribs are great as well. If you're just dining for one, the 1/4 chicken w/ 2 sides is enough, as the 1/2 chicken gives you a lot of meat. Also note they have desserts like Flan, Tres Leches, and my favorite, Tiramisu. :
