I brought some friends from California to the Outboard pub. I hadn't eaten there for a long time - back in the days when it was the Blue Heron. I must say, we had a much better dining and service experience compared to the last time we ate at the Heron.First of all, our server was fantastic. Our friends had a 2 year old boy with them and the server had the boy eating out of her hands. She was funny, dynamic and attentive. And her interactions with all of us was great.We were there for dinner and we all enjoyed our meals. Even my foodie friends from CA said they thought the food was really good. We headed to this pub on Lake Okanagan for Sunday brunch/lunch. We wanted a patio on the water and this was a perfect spot. It was busy but our group of 7 got a table together. We all had different meals and everyone was very pleased with their food. It was all hot and fresh and there were no leftovers - a good sign. We had attentive servers who took good care of us and were very friendly and welcoming. They were busy ladies as the pub got crazy busy. Still, they served with a smile and great patience. I highly recommend this place. It is not fine dining, but it is very good pub food served in a spectacular setting. The view from the patio is too die for.
I visited this restaurant with friends in early August. Thankfully the smoke wasn't bad on the evening that we went there because it would have obstructed the amazing water views from the restaurant. It turned out great.First of all, our female server was fantastic. She was very good with young children and she was very attentive to everyone's needs. One of the best servers I have ever had in a restaurant.By all accounts, the starters and mains were also very good.No complaints from anyone. In fact, quite the opposite. Everyone enjoyed their meals thoroughly.I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We took a friend out who was in town for the evening and were pleasantly surprised with our visit to the Pub. We had been there many times before when it was under a different name, but the last few times we were not impressed. So it took us a while to come out and try it under the new name. Our dinners were great, came in a timely manner and our waitress was a wonderful young lady from England who was just a lot of fun. Had a group of 11 where we phoned ahead to see if there was space (they don't reserve). Parties arriving after us got their food before us. Waited way too long and 4 of our orders were screwed up, creating even longer waits. Food and service are normally good here, but this experience was a real disappointment. May be a long time before we return with a party larger than 4!
Good friendly service across the board with nice daily drink specials offered and situated right on the lake. Good upbeat music too. Menu prices quite high was my only concern for this place. Want to see them around for a long time. I think they should consider about one dollar less a menu item as pretty high compared to most others. Kid friendly too is nice!
I had the rib special for Saturdays. My wife enjoyed taco salad and we split the sweet potato fries. We enjoyed a rather nice calamari which was spiced nicely but a bit greasy. All in all lots of fun as it is a lakeside pub and we arrived by boat. A decent meal at a slightly above decent price, but the ambiance was great and the device unmatched!
6 of us went in for dinner. We were a little worried as the pub was packed. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. Our server was amazing, she knew the menu and could make recommendations, she was quick and attentive. The food was very very good. We had several appies and entrees. Our uncle and aunt who live in Vernon, took us out to this restaurant for lunch. We had a good meal along with friendly service. If there were no wild fires in the area, the view from where we sat would have been great. For a casual meal, this would be a good choice.
