I've driven past this place so many times and it's always busy. We went in for a drink there once and wanted to go for a meal. We finally went with friends last night and it didn't disappoint. The food is home cooked, good portions and delicious. The girls who served us were great and it was very Christmassy so a wonderful atmosphere. My only criticism is that our table was near the door and the front door is held open ? so the freezing cold wind comes in through the inner doors and made it unpleasantly cold. I'd ask for a different table next time but we'll definitely be going back.
We were told by a neighbour to try the Owls nest last January (2023) and we have been coming for Sunday lunch ever since( apart from twice for family reasons) we have a little dachshund who is very well behaved and it’s such a pleasure to be able to take her with us. The food is second to none, I would have a job to compete with the chef and I class myself as a very confident chef of good old fashioned food. This place is a gem, warm and friendly owner and staff. It is a real treat and an absolute pleasure to visit this pub.
Have not been here in years but was amazing back then have kids now we all just been up for food and beer was fresh food was unbelievable so good will we make this a regular visit for sure girl that was serving us so helpful and nice thank you very much see you again soon

The menu is a bit small, but the food is lovely. Was rather chilly inside, but overall, a place I would recommend.
