We 're looking forward to trying the Pheasant again on a normal day. We went on Boxing Day and it was pretty disastrous. Meant to be a treat but it certainly wasn 't. Starters were nice, no cooking involved apart from the pesto. Then the mains. The beef was grey, not pink as I was told it would be but it was tender. The roast potatoes tasted a bit old but there were plenty. The Chantenay carrots were very soft. The Savoy cabbage was perfect but the portion was tiny. The gravy was nice but we got a different variety when we asked for more. The Yorkshire pudding was the main disaster; it seemed old, and very hard to the point of shattering. Desserts. We booked for Christmas lunch at The Pheasant this year mainly because of the high standard of previous meals eaten here since the new owners took over. We were certainly not disappointed ...this must have been the best festive lunch I have eaten (and there have been many). The five course menu was well thought out and well executed. From the delicious canapes to the Starters of which we each had something different..... Soup, pate and lobster all of which were delicious. I visited The Pheasant with my two sons (ages 11 and 8) while on a short trip in Cambridgeshire, based on a recommendation from a friend. We had an amazing meal at The Pheasant, and spent a peaceful hour reading on the couch in the bar beforehand. The pub is absolutely stunning! The atmosphere was friendly, the decor beautiful, the service top-notch, and the food was exceptional. We had a fantastic evening at The Pheasant in Keyston for a Christmas meal with friends. The festive menu was a hit with all of us, especially at the great price of £37 per person for 3 courses, including tea and coffee. The gluten-free menu was excellent, offering a wide range of options. The rib of beef was incredibly tender and delicious. We have been a couple of times with friends since it re-opened in early Oct. it is a really well furnished and atmospheric inn, with really friendly, knowledgable and efficient staff. Well located on border of Cambs. and Northants. near J15 of A14. They have a really varied menu servings selection of both A La Carte and Pub Classics, plus sharing Nibbles as alternatives to as well as a good choice of Starters and Deserts. Their Pies are excellent. Great service. Can thoroughly recommend.
My wife and I visited The Pheasant this past weekend for an anniversary meal and had a wonderful evening. Each course was perfectly proportioned and beautifully cooked and presented. The wine list was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and were looked after with thought and care. A great balance of comfort and high quality cuisine. We're very much looking forward to how Stevie and the team build on such a wonderful start to their new venture.
Always a favourite venue of mine and it lived up to my expectations for Sunday lunch. Warm and friendly welcome from all staff on arrival. Young Theo, our waiter was truly excellent. His manners, his ability to converse with a table of mixed ages was wonderful. The restaurant was, as expected, very busy but the service and the food was just super. Very good value for money, lovely friendly atmosphere a real gem.

Outstanding meal. Came here with a couple of friends and was not disappointed! The staff were accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. There was a festive, cosy atmosphere and the food was to die for. Highly recommended the artichokes and the scallops. We will be back!
