This is a nice pub by the river in Cambridge. We ordered the steak and ale cakes as well as the festive cakes. The steak and ale dish was traditional—nothing exceptional, but certainly warm and satisfying.
This beloved pub of C.S. Lewis was on the must-see list of historic old pubs, and it didn't disappoint! The atmosphere was vibrant, with fascinating decor and plenty of local characters to engage with.

"visited la maison du steak with adult and children eating was good service was ok best spent on eating plus a manditory service fee of whitch I did not ask to pay, but was said I did not have any choice because the manager was not on this day it unpopular mine, but it is not our culture in Britain to pay service fees so that it lets down the cleaning"
