The Plasterers Arms

We popped in not long after they had opened as a first stop on a planned quiet mini crawl around Hoylake. We were the only customers in but the place didn't feel empty. The pub had an atmosphere even with just the two of us in there. There's wood paneling on the ceiling with nautical bits and bobs dotted around. It's a traditional, proper pub. There's an outside area for those with families too. The beer was spot on, a really well kept pint. After our drink we wandered off to our next stop. When we finished that that drink we both decided to scrap the planned route and went back to the Plasterers and stayed there for the rest of our afternoon. After leaving the nearby Holiday Inn Express, I stumbled upon this charming pub tucked away on a back street. I originally planned to just have a quick drink, but as soon as I entered and was warmly greeted by the young woman behind the bar, I felt right at home. With a selection of four cask ales to choose from, I had a hard time deciding, but with the encouragement of the friendly locals (who insisted on joining me), my quick drink turned into a four-hour adventure filled with good beer and engaging conversation. We visited the pub after the funeral of my husband’s uncle who had been a regular there. It was not the official reception after the funeral but we were told that they were having a little party in tribute to him . About 8 of us , nephews nieces, went to the pub were made so welcome by everyone there especially the landlord landlady Ritchie Michelle who treated us like long lost friends were incredibly generous. It was everything a real pub should be, warm, friendly great food drink. Thank you all very much.

A pleasant surprise to find that this tiny and un-spoiled pub remains not only open but thriving. On the occasion of my visit there were four real ales and all appeared well kept; White Rat Robinsons Unicorn Purple Moose Boltmaker The pub is multi roomed and there was a roaring fire. Four superbly kept real ales; Purple Moose Snowdonia Boltmaker White Rat Draught Bass plus Moretti and a range of lagers, bottled Aspells real cider plus interesting gins This is a real pub with real regulars who love the place

Used to frequent quite regularly over twenty years ago because you were always guaranteed a good pint and friendly service. Visiting friends we decided to see if anything had changed, it hadn’t. Still traditional inside, still friendly service and still a good, well kept pint. The White Rat was excellent!

There are 4 excellent cask ales available, along with Carling, Moretti, Amstel, and fantastic Guinness. The restaurant is conveniently located near the beautiful Hoylake beach, making it a perfect spot for a quick break.

The band was fantastic. The staff was very nice and the customers were friendly. The prices for alcohol and soft drinks were reasonable. Although the restaurant is small, it is definitely worth a visit. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Great place for a warm up and a great pint of peer on a chilly day. Dogs welcome which is great. Friendly staff.
