Visited the plough today with our lovely puppies. The staff were so accommodating and spoiled our dogs rotten. They even provide a doggy menu, how cute. Our dogs loved the doggy burgers and next time we might treat them to fish and chips! The human food was next level and after looking through their extensive menu I settled on the nut loaf roast. 6 hours later and I’m still full. My plate was piled high and every bite was a treat. My friend is an extremely fussy eater. He is still raving about his mixed grill and the ‘best sausages he has ever tasted!’ (and he has had his fair share of sausage! Thanks so much for a lovely afternoon. We hope to see you all again soon. X
During our weekend stay in the area, we visited The Plough with our dog. We were warmly greeted by Lillia, who was very friendly. After ordering our drinks, Courtney came to our table to take our order. Despite being only 17 years old, Courtney was confident and well-suited for her role in customer service. She was extremely helpful, and based on her recommendations, we ordered a doggy dinner for our Springer Spaniel and a Doggy Beer. Everyone at the restaurant, including who we believe was the landlady, was down to earth and welcoming, making us feel very much at home. Overall, it was a fantastic place to visit.
The menu is extensive and from the specials we chose the Coronation Butterfly Chicken Burgers which were delicious. We shared a very tasty Garlic Ciabatta with Cheese as a starter but after our main courses there was no room for even a shared dessert. Service throughout was warm and friendly and our visit produced a bonus; during a previous visit with our grandchildren, our grandson’s rucksack with his diggers and dumpers had gone missing. But when we asked if perhaps……. The answer was”Yes! We have it!” Thank you a lovely lunch and rescuing g the rucksack!
We had a family dinner on a Friday evening and while there wasn't anything terribly wrong, the food quality wasn't up to par with our previous visits and the prices were on the high side. For instance, the fish and chips were £12.00 and the chips were clearly frozen, no better than what you would find at a cheaper chain pub. My dessert, the sticky toffee pudding, was very good, but for a village pub, they need to be more consistent with their offerings. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Visited the Plough on recommendations however, myself and 3 the people I was with were extremely disappointed. Main courses: Cheese and onion pie, small portion with very thick crust was crying out for gravy Cumberland sausage sausage was very tasty but again small portion more akin ton a starter Belly pork x 2 one meal was great however the second one as 95% fat and only 5% meat Suffice to say a return visit won't be on the cards anytime soon
We went on Sunday, a table of 9, amazing Sunday lunch, one of the best I've ever had, melt in your mouth meat and delicious accompaniments, echoed by the rest of the group. The staff were fabulous, very attentive, I didn't catch their names but the 2 ladies who tended to us couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Already recommended to friends and wouldn't hesitate to return.
Stopped on the way back from a dog walk with friends. Made the right choice staff were very welcoming from the minute we walked in The food was locally sourced and excellent mixed grill was top draw) VERY dog friendly dogs were made welcome from the off and were offered treats as soon as we arrived Will defo visit again
The food at this restaurant is delicious with a wide variety of choices and fast service. However, I noticed that the overall cleanliness of the restaurant is lacking and some of the staff members are a bit abrupt. Visited here for my daughter’s 16th birthday meal.Food was fantastic, great menu something for everyone and staff went above and beyond.will definitely be visiting again soon.
