I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is even better. The owner is wonderful and has a keen eye for decorating the space beautifully. I've always received impeccable service during my visits. Just two days before having my baby (this wasn't my first time here), I was treated exceptionally well. I returned this week with my baby and some friends, and once again, the staff was amazing. When my family came to visit, they were also impressed and had nothing but positive things to say. This place feels like a safe haven for me! I highly recommend it to everyone. Kudos to you for creating a remarkable experience in York!
Such a lovely pub. As someone else said, it is like a country pub on the outskirts of the city of York. So much to look at. Three of us (we had booked a table), Sunday afternoon. 2 x chicken piri piri and one scampi and hand cut chips, all delicious. I finished with a salted caramel choc cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. I love ice cream and this was one of the creamiest I'd tasted. Tom came and sat next to me for ages. Gorgeous cat, he doesn't pester you for food, which is lucky as he's not allowed it!
What a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was bustling on Saturday night, but our food was served quickly by our cheerful waitress. We watched as the chef expertly prepared and beautifully presented the hot cake. The inn is filled with warmth and character, clearly a favorite among both locals and visitors. I can’t wait for another opportunity to visit York so we can dine here again. Thank you!
Well what can we say? First time we’ve been here, as soon as we walked in , we felt as if we belonged, we felt we were locals, it is a typical countryside bar but set in a town suburb, atmosphere, decoration, staff friendliness and food! The fillet of steak was the best I’ve ever had and I don’t say that often, chips to die for, the perfect pink gin , moretti on draught, and the ever present tom ,

Just returned from a two-day stay at this beautiful place. Our room was fabulous, and the staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond for us, especially the owner's twin sister—nothing was ever too much trouble for her. The food was lovely as well. We will definitely go back. We absolutely loved it!
We came upon this place quite by chance as we were looking for somewhere for breakfast. We could not have been made more welcome amd had a great breakfast. We liked it so much we went back again today. The menu for lunch/dinner looked amazing but we didnt get the chance to try it.

Had a fabulous meal on Saturday after races great pub we called in on Friday but missed lunch so the landlady gave us a bowl of chips fill the gap really gorgeous food would recommend it to anyone
