The Po'boy Shop Basement

This was my first time coming to The Po Boy Shop. The customer service is good. The atmosphere is pleasant with options to eat inside or outside. However, the food was average at best. The portions are very small in comparison to the price. I ordered the chicken po boy and my sister ordered the shrimp po boy. Both sandwiches were mainly bread with very little filling. My sandwich has two pieces of chicken strips the rest was lettuce and tomato. And the same with my sisters sandwich. I spent almost $50 on the two of us for a sandwich, 1 order of small fries and 2 small drinks. We’re still hungry. After removing all the extra bread there was nothing left.

It was my first time visiting this establishment. It was somewhat hard to find, but once we walked in it seemed welcoming. There wasn’t a host stand or anything so we weren’t sure where to go. Then we were greeted by one of the servers and told we could sit anywhere we wanted. The service was excellent, and the food was ok. I had a large shrimp Po boy sandwich. The sauce wasn’t great, but I’m not a fan of Mayo. The atmosphere is amazing and I’d be willing to try it again. PS, the smoking area is located right at the front door, so we had to walk thru a cloud of smoke going in and leaving the restaurant.

Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes! If you want authentic Louisiana food eat here and eat here often. I found this place by accident as I was just driving by and saw the sign but as a Louisiana native, I had to investigate. I’m sure glad I did as I had the most fantastic oyster po-boy I’ve had in years. Total New Orleans right down to the bread. I actually wished I could’ve stayed and tried one of every single thing. Trust me! Eat here! Service: Dine in

I Uber from the west side just for Wardell! He is the best bartender! Make sure to go to the bar and see him! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
