My family and I came to this restaurant for dinner earlier in the evening. Although I usually love burgers, I wanted to try something healthier this time. I decided to order the Saffron Salmon from the specialty menu, and it did not disappoint. The salmon was cooked to perfection and had a delicious flavor (even though I'm not typically a fan of salmon). The dish came with vibrant, perfectly cooked veggies that were also very tasty. The lemon sauce that accompanied the meal was fantastic, and there was plenty of it for dipping both the salmon and veggies. Unfortunately, The Pub has declined in quality compared to its previous standards. It may be due to staffing issues. The service at the bar is unsatisfactory, with bartenders displaying poor attitudes and getting into arguments with other staff members in front of customers. The food is average at best. The interior temperature is uncomfortably warm, supposedly due to the constantly opening and closing patio doors. Despite these shortcomings, the bar still attracts a steady stream of regulars for a quick drink. Personally, I would prefer to support a more lively establishment that values customer service and goes the extra mile for their patrons.
Praise for the chef is well-deserved! We visited the restaurant around 11:45 today, and although it wasn't too crowded, there were a few large groups dining. The front staff were friendly, as always. The food did take some time to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait! The carnitas Benedict and the duck chorizo chilaquiles were exceptional. We later learned that the chef was working solo, yet the dishes arrived hot and perfectly cooked. It's surprising that the owners didn't have extra kitchen staff on hand for Mother's Day weekend. The chef truly went above and beyond today and deserves a bonus for his amazing work! Bravo to the chef!
I ordered the bacon and fig pizza, which was delicious! The Neopolitan-style crust had a chewy interior with a nice crusty exterior. The pizza had a perfect balance between the salty bacon and sweet figs and caramelized onions. I paid at The Pub andenjoyed a pint from their large selection of craft beer while I waited. I?m very disappointed and disgusted.I found an insect cooked into the cheese on my pizza. I left a message with the manager and am awaiting a call back. This is the 2nd Father?s Day without my father and I just wanted some pizza to help feel better and hadbeen wanting to try this place out. I won?t be going back. Inspect your pizza before take a bite.
It's not the best pizza I've ever had but it's VERY good for a local spot and intend to come back. It's not a knock against them that I gave them 4 stars, I'm just a deep dish kind of guy but the service was great, the pizza was really good. The sourdoughcrust was perfectly crispy and the cheese/sauce ratio was perfect. Definitely coming back.
I am new to Chino Hills and I love pizza. This is the best pizza in the area by far. Their sourdough crust is perfect and their topping arrangements are so good. I have had almost every pizza they offer.
