I tried Pursuit for the first time during HH on a Tuesday night. The pluses: service was friendly, some of the food including the scallop tapa and the meatball appetizer was delicious, and they have a great selection of wine flights with a lot of unique and interesting wines. Unfortunately, the food quality really varied. The beet dish was okay, but the camembert was lost and the onions were undercooked, and the Brussels sprouts were so undercooked that they were inedible (and no comment from the staff when they cleared the uneaten bowl away). I was also really disappointed that the wine flights were served in tiny stemless glasses that don't allow you to aerate or smell the wine. To pay $25...
As a group of four we got the crab stuffed shrimp, fish and chips and the lamb pappardelle. Our server wasn’t very helpful in helping us find our way around the menu. But we did! If I had to rank them the crab stuffed shrimp, the lamb pappardelle and then the fish and chips. Fish and chips were like little popcorn fish nuggets and very lemony which made you love them or think it was over bearing. The broil on the shrimp was immaculate. Only complaint is that I need more when sharing The pappardelle had good flavor and seem like it could be filling all by itself. All in all the food was great. Will be back to try some more of their exciting options.
Passed by The Pursuit on my way home from work one day, and it looked fun! Decided to go the next day with my partner for dinner. The drinks were great; we ordered a Wine Flight which was amazing, and the Whiskey a Go-Go! The food was a little bit disappointing. The Brussel sprout salad was not very good, and we spent an extra $11 to add (a measly portion of) steak on top. The Carbonara Linguine was slightly better, but there was way more oil in the dish than we were expecting. Would definitely go back for a happy hour sort of vibe, but I wouldn't order food here again.
The wine was good and the flights were decent pours. However, the service fell short from what I would expect from a wine bar like this. We came in at 9 for a party of two and sat at the bar. It took several minutes before we were served, orders were taken as if it was a task to be done and without a greeting, and no one further checked in on us until we got the check. This is the best pasta I have had in years, and everyone at the table got different orders and loved everything they got. I’m still thinking about it days later. The staff is so kind and attentive, chef even came out and asked how we liked the food. Great selection of wines. Great bang for your buck on the charcuterie board. I plan on becoming a regular here because I must try everything on the menu. So so so good.
Great experience! Wine was delicious with a good variety of glass/bottle/flight options. The menu was hard to choose from as so many of the dishes sounded good, and it did not disappoint. Great service and the chef came around to each table to see how we were doing. Would recommend! This is the perfect spot for date night or a happy hour with friends :
This place is a real hidden gem. I don’t know why it’s not busier. The food is really exceptional, much better than expected and reasonably priced. The wine is great, service is great. But it should be open later! I really hope this place stays around because it’s a standout.
Great local wine bar right down the street from where we live. Staff was nice and great to talk to about all the food. Check out their wine tastings where people come and talk about the wine they serve. We did a Auckland and Sydney focused event and it was very cool. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Tiny pours of super expensive wine and the worst gazpacho on earth. Nice location and ambience, but you can do way better within a block or two.
