What a great find for an overnight stay for me and the other half on my Birthday. A lovely pub/restaurant and a lovely stay in the lodge within the grounds. Our room was very clean and tidy. Just a 30minute walk/stroll along the canal into the City too, so that's a bonus if you are up for taking a stroll. I did leave behind in our room my favourite (Monsoon) top so when I called the Pyewipe after realising half way home that I'd not packed it, they very kindly posted it on to me. That itself is good business and great hospitality and, if we are ever that way again, we'll be sure to choose The Pyewipe for our stay. Again, thanks to all the team for their help. I'm so grateful.
This charming pub is situated in a perfect location with a beautiful view of the canal, away from any noise from the road. Our food was delicious and came out quickly, though it took a bit longer than expected to place our order. The burgers were tasty and of good quality. It felt like there weren't enough wait staff for the number of customers, possibly due to a new table service policy. We encountered a small issue with the bill at the end, but it was promptly resolved.
There are plenty of choices for drinks and I have always enjoyed them. It's wonderful to sit outside during the summer. This time, I sat down to eat and the food was delicious. I will definitely return as soon as possible.

Lovely pub on the banks of a river. Lots of canal boats and other craft. Pleasant place to sit outside and have a drink. Or inside in a comfortable decorated bar/ resteraunt.
Great place to stop and eat. Location by the canal on a beautiful day was great food was lovely. Breakfast was good too. Accommodation was ok just maybe needs updating.
Perfect pub! Love the food and cocktails are brilliant, Ale is really good too!
