We visited this month with 3 children, myself and my parents for a lunch. Upon literally sitting down, the server came over and asked what we were having to drink. We hadn’t even been seated for more than 20 seconds or given a menu. We quickly ordered the drinks and then looked at the menu. In our party, we had my Autistic Daughter( aged 9). She wanted the adults fish and chips but won’t eat any foods if its mixed. The server came back over to ask for our food order and i said that she would like the Cod and Chips but with no lemon, tartare or peas on the plate. The servers response was ‘ But its very big’….. so i said thats fine and she went ‘ But the portion is very big’. Why does it matte...
I reserved an afternoon tea for myself and two friends at the Queens Head. I dine there regularly and was eager to try their new afternoon tea. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous amount of food, which included a delightful selection of sandwiches, a chocolate and avocado mousse, a white chocolate and raspberry bomb, delicious blueberry and lemon cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam, and plenty of tea. A nice touch was the two macarons in a box to take home, as we were too full to eat them at the restaurant but enjoyed them later that evening. The presentation was beautifully done and the staff were excellent as always. Whether you are local or just visiting, I highly recommend...
We was recently on holiday and passed The Queens Head heading into town on a Sunday morning so we decided to pop in on our way back and glad we did We went in for a Sunday roast but hadn’t booked but they managed to find us a table. Welcoming us with a friendly manner to make us feel welcome The service was brilliant and efficient with all staff polite and attentive The food itself, was amazing and tasted like proper home cooked food with plenty of taste. Good size portions and very tasty!! We had roasts and our son had the steak pie which was amazing!!! We left very full and happy
Decide to eat here after looking at the reviews. Had high hopes, what let down.both of us had fish and chips. Fish was cod? Both pieces had a hard line though the the centre. Chips showed no signs of colour. Peas very poor quality and i mean poor. Two young girls worked there butts off trying to keep every body happy. and don't a fine job. Shame the food didn't match there service. it was a busy hot Saturday and they didn't stop. Would never go back to this place on this experience Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We visited this restaurant on a bustling Sunday and ordered the steak pie and cod. We were informed that the steak pie was homemade and it exceeded our expectations! The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding. Our server, Olivia, was courteous and extremely professional. We would definitely return to this establishment.
I only visited this restaurant once and ordered the cod, but like others have mentioned, it didn't seem to be cod at all. Cod doesn't have black skin. I felt quite unwell afterwards, and that was the only thing I had eaten. I wouldn't recommend this place, even though the waitress did work hard.
A lovely afternoon lunch once again at The Queens Head. I had the Steak Pie which melted in the mouth and my wife had the Chicken Caesar salad with croutons that she loved. Olivia our young waitress was quick to seat and serve us with a lovely nature, thank you.
Was recommended to try by my Daughter who had visited recently. We were not dissapointed, I had Steak Pie, the steak melted in the mouth, my wife had beef raost, again really nice. Entertainment provided by Dan Fraser on Guitar who proved to be brilliant. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Excellent roast meats were cooked perfectly, service and price very good , gets busy best to turn up on opening to get a seat.
