For anyone who knows me I am really fussy about restaurants, including food and service. We stayed at The Old Rectory and they recommended the Tilly Raven. What a superb choice. Clean, light and airy with an open plan aspect. Starters I wanted mussels but they didn't have any so I had the mushrooms. Not your usual button mushrooms but shitake and oyster mushrooms, a well known starter elevated to the next level. My husband had the cauliflower, apple and cheese soup. Sounds gross, but trust me, it was sensational. Good amount of dipping bread with it too. Mains I had the pork belly on black pudding mash. The pork belly was perfect. Beautiful crackling top.
