Omg visited what used to be a lovely pub today after a nice walk with my hubby dog . I have no words other than what on earth's happened! I imagine it will be closed soon as I for one definitely will not be back. No food is served in what used to be a gorgeous very busy country pub , there was however a group of very loud, very rude/crude people at the bar making the time I spent there very uncomfortable, I could tell by the few people around me that we all felt the same, a couple told me that its been this way gor a few months now , same rude/loud/vulgar people at the bar, the staff did nothing about this either . It was awful I couldn't drink my drink quick enough to get out !!
Recently taken over so I'd urge readers to ignore reviews before the past couple of weeks. Went for Sunday lunch this week and it was exceptional. Service from the team was a delight, we were really well looked after and the food was first class. The best Sunday Lunch I've had in a very long time. We'll all be back very soon to taste the regular menu also. Well done on an amazing start Becky and Andy!
Having lived in the village for over 25 years. So nice to visit our local and have a beautiful Christmas day lunch. Beautiful food served consistently. No idea we’re previous review came from. We have never found staff rude. Becky and Andy run a tight ship. Long live there reign. !
This pub has recently been taken over by new management and what a difference they have made! The food was lovely and the staff all super friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend for anybody who lives in the area or is visiting.

New owners new vibe!! The food, drinks, Service are everything here, we’ve just had a gorgeous meal, drinks were spot on and staff are so attentive, please visit it’s so lovely to have a great country pub right on our doorstep!
Both our local guide book and the web suggested this had been a great pub with good food. However, we arrived to find it quiet and dark, and no food being offered. Very disappointing!
Our first visit for a long time. Food and service excellent. The fish and chips was perfect. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.
Under new management .. Staff are lovely and new managers are very friendly. Food was amazing, lovely atmosphere, cozy village pub… We will definitely be back

Even under the new takeover we found the staff and management to be very rude. Food was average, service was worse. Definitely won’t be returning.
