The food at this restaurant was excellent, and it had been a long time since my last visit. The quality and standards are still wonderful! I started with the ham hock terrine and had the lasagne for my main course, both were delicious and full of flavor. We were too full to order dessert as we indulged too much. This place is perfect for when you don't feel like cooking on a Sunday, and we will definitely be returning once we've recovered from our food coma. The customer service was provided by a lovely group of young people. Overall, it was a great experience! Thank you, Red Lion Thorpe x.
What an amazing pub/restaurant. The food was delicious and at such great prices too which is so hard to find nowadays. Every dish was wonderful lasagne, stuffed chicken and fish pie and I managed to fit in a Creme Brulee too all homemade and truly great food. The lad who seemed to be running the whole place himself is equally brilliant very welcoming, helpful, clearly great at his job I wish I'd taken his name for this review. We are very much looking forward to coming back soon to try the Christmas menu.
Popped in for lunch today while visiting my wife's mum. Five of us had lunch and everyone of us absolutely loved what we had. Between we can reccomend the burgers, lasagne, stuffed chicken breast and especially the duck breast in orange cranberry sauce. One of the best meals out I've had for ages (and we ate out four days last week). Finally great service from a very hardworking lad who was doing almost everything in the pub and restaurant but still had time to check we were OK and look after us
On the 3rd of September, my partner and I were craving a roast dinner. Both of us were feeling discomfort in our backs and didn't feel like cooking (not that my partner cooks anyway!). Luckily for us, we found a restaurant just 3 minutes away from closing time. Despite the late hour, the staff was gracious enough to take our order. The food arrived promptly, hot and plentiful. We visited The Red Lion after a full day at Thorpe Park. We were staying on resort but wanted some non fast food. This little pub is less than 5 mins drive is very welcoming. Food was good, very reasonably priced service was prompt and efficient. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby. Thanks for having us
Three friends and I had a wonderful dining experience at the Red Lion. The food was exceptional and reasonably priced, and the service was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the touch of the white cotton tablecloth. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to others.
This is such a great place. The service is wonderful, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the food is very good and it’s reasonably priced. The Sunday roasts are excellent. The whole thing is so well run and I love that it’s not part of a chain. It’s the best pub/restaurant in the area by miles
I joined friends and family for a Christmas Day Lunch .. The main courses .. Turkey was small portions mine was like a child’s size And Beef Wellington was served in a small pastry case and the beef square was so tough ., The waiter/barman was the best Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Seventeen of us thoroughly enjoyed a Christmas dinner at the Red Lion. Hosts Louise and Graham did a fabulous job of providing a hugely enjoyable evening for us all. Lovely food, exceptional service and such great value for money. Highly recommended.
