I have not been to the Red House for a couple of years but we frequent many of the Paragon Group on a regular basis. I was therefore really shocked when we arrived to be confronted by a queue of people at the door waiting to give their details to the front of house attendant. We managed to crowd into the porch area but then more came who were waiting outside and it was freezing. I counted 17 people waiting! By the time we eventually reached the front and were asked for our table name it still was not ready and by now it was 30 minutes after our time slot. We did not even receive an apology for the situation which led me to believe that this was perhaps the norm for a Saturday night at 7.45pm...
Dropped in Saturday late afternoon with no booking which wasn't a problem. Service and food was excellent as usual. The Red House is one of our favourite restaurants in Shropshire and we eat there frequently. I do find that the food is sometimes slightly better during their quieter periods than when it is super busy but that never puts us off. Thanks again for a great meal x
Was looking forward to a Sunday lunch today , hubby’s starter he enjoyed , than our beef dinner arrived , couple of roasters , one just the skin , broccoli very wet and most disappointing was the beef , fatty , rubbery and hard to cut let alone chew it , I left mine. Didn’t risk desserts ! Table water bottle needs a good clean round the top too
The room was warm and inviting, the furniture was tired and worn. The starters were small. The main dish was overpriced, three small pieces of goats cheese on a salad not the best. I was overcharged and it took some time to get it rectified and to my frustration they added a service charge without letting me know.

On this occasion food was amazing but dissappointed they promised the table to the next sitting early so pushed us off it 20 minutes early in our 2 hour slot, and felt rushed to do so, after spending £230 I did not expect this and left very dissappointed when we had drinks left to finish
I love the decor of this pub the service is friendly and the food is delicious what more do you need? The only reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because we were seated by the toilets when there were plenty of other free tables available.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food bought in a timely fashion and not rushed. Enrique our waiter was fantastic very professional and friendly with great knowledge of the menu. This was our first trip but not our last
Delicious food, huge variety on the menu, very high quality! Service was friendly and fast, we are definitely returning customers :

Warm and comfortable surroundings and very friendly attentive waiter. Food excellent and plentiful. Good value for money.
Visited Saturday with some friends and had a great time. Our waiter Enrique was brilliant! Defo coming back
