After being unable to reserve chequers at ranby out usual haunt I suggested we try here, we weren't dissapointed! The food and service were all top noch! Three of us ordered steak pie, my husband the gammon and my 6 year old son the fish all were well cooked and quality ingredients (meat A grade) which made for a really enjoyable meal. We finished off with Eton mess and sticky toffee puds! Yum!! Oh and the gin menu!! Sampled a few treats keep up the good work its so nice to have local eateries worth a second visit
I and my wife were on week of slumber near edwinstowe and was recommended to this pub by a native. we were thrilled with the food it was delicious. Eating was really good and would have eaten happily more, but unfortunately I was full after my meal. I would recommend this pub to anyone who passes by as we were. beautiful staff and eating. wants to come back here again when we are ever back in the opposite.
After a good dog walk in sherwood forest we decided to find somewhere for a good lunch, and a fast web search told us that the royal oak dogs and mud boots welcomed us. we were very welcome in the did and had a delicious meal, and 5e employees even have our dogs with tasty while we ate. there was a real fire that heated the room, and we enjoyed our meal.
had a birthday party there, 33 people for a sitting meal. we have ordered meals to make it easier in the kitchen. the evening went super, a server was assigned a table each, all food came well cooked and together. the evening was enjoyed by all and could not have been better. many thanks to all those who made it an unforgettable night.
we called to my friends for lunch 50th birthday. we were in a lodge near. it was busy, but the staff was really friendly and eating was delicious. we had the sharing plates, cakes and fish and chips. the portion sizes were very generous and we were all very satisfied, we enjoyed it very much that we came back in the night for drinks.
Luckily for us we decided to pop in for some food before returning to London. We had Blade of Beef Korean Tacos and this probably is one of the best meals we have had in any pub or restaurant. We'll presented and full of flavour. Very nice pub with very friendly and helpful staff.
Popped in Sunday for lunch. As we didn’t have a reservation we didn’t think we would be seated, but the staff made us very welcome and found us a table. The food was delicious, the service was excellent. Will definitely return again, only next time we’ll book first.
We booked a table for dinner at the Royal Oak while visiting Sherwood recently and the service and food were both amazing. Definitely recommend the Korean Chicken Tacos!
