we booked on Easter Sunday lunch in the wordsworth hotel signature restaurant. we arrived a little early, so enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar, which was very pleasant. we expected that the restaurant is full, but we found ourselves the only people to eat that was a little bizarre experience as it was ostern in the lake district, we thought it would be packed! but no matter. we have been shown to a beautiful table near the window so that the world passes and enjoy it, in the dry, while it rains out! we decided to go for main course and dessert instead of a starter and pornstar. the entrance of the hotel appeared dowdy and dated, but the garden and the terrace on the back were beautiful. the service was strange. it was formal and even a bit pompous, but the menu was baffling, other diner seemed to be offered more options/spezialists, and we had to ask several times for a glass wein that finally arrived at the end of our main course. in addition, we were accused twice for dessert. we will not return to this place.
We had a delightful time at Signature. The wait staff was very accommodating and the food was first class. All of the dishes were carefully prepared with an exquisite blend of flavors. The chef is flexible and created a special dessert for me to meet my dietary needs. We highly recommend this place!
We have had lovely meals here before. This time took parents and were disappointed. Service was not great, given wine but not asked to taste. No explanation of the appetiser. Nothing terrible but we booked for a fine dining experience, and expect a little more when tue bill is nearly 300 pounds.

the food was excellent and some of the surprising combinations on the menu were well joined together and delicious. my only criticism would be that some of the employees were a little inexperienced and attentive service could improve our culinary experience.
Chose this location for my husbands birthday very quiet and subdued atmosphere large conservatory setting overlooking the main road through Grasmere food excellent 4 courses for £29.95 staff slightly amateurish but would return.
Surroundings and service first class. However flavours and quality of food disappointing. Nearby restaurants easily surpass in terms of flavour so for this reason (and the value for money) will not return.
The Signature was a great birthday treat whilst visiting the lakes. we were treated well by staff and the food was delicious and plentiful. The decor was pleasing and staff friendly.
