A group of friends and I recently visited as part of my sister's Hen Do celebrations. They kindly accommodated our group booking in part of their function room and the booking process was smooth. Although, this was completed via email as they did not respond to any phone calls or voicemails. The function room was a good size, nicely decorated and it felt like it had a calm atmosphere despite the music which was slightly too loud. The drinks were nice although we were surprised that they did not have many options that you might expect in a pub. It was mostly gin which we were not expecting. Great staff and seating both outside and across two floors inside make this a great pub. The outdoor seating can be quite the sun trap in the afternoon hours and indoors it’s a spacious area, with options for couples as well as larger groups. The range of drinks is good with plenty of spirits as well as draught options. They also have a cocktail menu with each of the drinks served with beautiful presentation and impressive flavours. It can be quite tight getting to the toilets downstairs but they’re alright and for the quality of the setting, drinks and location the prices are sensible. It’s one of my new favourites in the area!
This place has been here a while or at least looks it! A plaster work smuggler on the wall at the front and a row of twinkling lights tempts you in. On a Wednesday night this place is bustling with the post work crowd and students from UCL. Service is fast despite lots of people congregated round the bar. No problem getting a seat here there is extra seating upstairs. There is a menu of dependable pub grub including a good range of burgers, competitively priced for central London. Well served Opening Gambit bitter at the correct temperature. There is also a large range of dark and spiced rums.
Came to London on Saturday 26th to visit a friend, spontaneously decided to pop in for a quick pint. Ended up staying until nearly close. The atmosphere was lovely, the drinks delightful, and the staff just super awesome and amazing. Looked after us all night. Plugged my phone in behind the bar when it went flat. Classic English Tavern, not very large where you can take some paints and eat at a reasonable price within a well-off neighborhood. Very recommended. There is a floor upstairs with more tables but the atmosphere is down and down the street.
I really enjoy the traditional pub atmosphere with a unique maritime theme. They have a great variety of draft ales available. The best part is that the pub is pet-friendly, with water and treats provided for furry friends.
Lots of good options for burgers in this pub. I tried the double double, alot of meat here. The sides were nice too and a big thanks to the staff. Seating upstairs helps
