When you think of a 'pub,' you may imagine a dark, dingy place with typical pub food and the same old decor, with regular patrons at the bar. However, The Sociable Pub exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the warm wood tones, hardwood floors, and inviting tables. We were seated near the cozy fireplace and enjoyed live entertainment. The menu was far from typical pub fare, with delicious options like steak tartare, scallops, and fried clams for appetizers, and Chicken and Dumplings, Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Lobster Roll for entrees. The food was fresh and tasty, and we couldn't resist the Screech Rum Crème Brulee and Blueberry Crumble for dessert. D...
We have dined at The Sociable Pub twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We appreciate the East Coast theme, which is unique for Newmarket. The menu offers a great selection, and both meals we have tried were excellent. The Lobster Roll was fresh and delicious, and the fish and chips were perfectly battered and cooked, served with a tasty tartar sauce and coleslaw. Our waiter James provided excellent service, being knowledgeable about the menu and beverages, and was friendly and hospitable. We are looking forward to the opening of the new patio in a few weeks. Our only suggestion would be to expand the wine list, as it is currently limited. We would love to see a crisp Rieslin...
Hubby and I went there for a lunch date today and LOVED everything about it! The patio is so nice and private, with enough umbrellas for shade if needed, and comfortable seating! The server we had was fantastic, very 'sociable ' (hehe) and made recommendations etc when we asked. Our food was delicious as well. I had the grilled salmon sandwich on a brioche bun and hubby had the lobster roll. Tons of flavour and perfectly cooked.Super friendly all around great atmosphere, we cannot wait to go back!
This place is my absolute favourite. Staff and owners are fantastic! Always very friendly, and welcoming, with excellence service every time! The food is so delicious, the atmosphere is very cozy and the live entertainment on the weekends all work so well together to make such a great time! My recommendations on the menu.... EVERYTHING!!! Had an AMAZING dinner tonight with some girlfriends. We all shared the crab fritters (my personal fav), mussels, and lobster frites to start...yumm-o!!! I had the chicken pie skillet...incredible...a must try new menu dish. Brook Alex did great making sure the full was taken care of. Hats off to the cooks for the delicious food fantastic presentation. Can't wait to go back for another great evening! ~Cheers
My husband Travis and I were in town yesterday for a wedding and stopped in for a bite to eat before the reception. The east coast food and atmosphere was ah-mazing! The owner Lenny was very friendly and really made us feel at home. The next time we are in town we will be sure to stop in for some lobster frites and screech bbq wings. My husband and I were there for the lobster boil, we were a little skeptical about the lobster because we are from the East coast , but it was great!! We thoroughly enjoyed the lobster and potato salad and the corn, all fantastic, and my red winter sangria was great as well. Not our first visit here but it was for the lobster boil and we will definitely go again for it!
The Sociable Pub has a fantastic atmosphere and is constantly bustling with friendly individuals. This is no shock, as it is managed by two exceptionally kind people. The staff is consistently welcoming and dedicated throughout the night. The menu is filled with delicious food and drinks, and they even have live music.
