I had never been to this restaurant before and it was recommended to me. The bar staff and service were excellent. However, the restaurant seemed hesitant to promote itself, citing its small size and potentially long wait times for food. This was disappointing as we would have liked to stay longer if we had enjoyed a good meal, as we loved the atmosphere. The food that we saw other patrons eating looked delicious. The bar staff were working hard and deserved the £10 tip I left them. I hope they receive it.
never been here and was a recommendation. great bar staff and service. didnt really want to promote the restaurant as i was told it was small and would really be a bit of a wait for food, this was disappointing as we would have stayed much longer if we could have had a nice meal as we really enjoyed the atmosphere. the food that we say going out looked really good. bar staff worked hard and deserved the £10 tip, i hope they get it
The staff at this restaurant were somewhat obnoxious and rude. I observed them serve several people, including myself, without making eye contact or engaging in any conversation with the customers. They simply prepared the drink and held up the card machine for payment while chatting amongst themselves. It felt like being served by a group of people more interested in their own conversation than providing good customer service.
I went to this restaurant with my brother, but we were denied service by the impolite bartender who said my brother was too drunk the last time he was there, which was true. When I went back a few days later by myself, I was still refused service because of my brother, even though he wasn't with me. The staff at this restaurant is very welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed a few drinks outside in the sun, and later returned for more drinks in the evening and a delicious dinner with a mouthwatering pudding. The interior is cozy and there is a good mix of people. The background is beautiful. All in all, it was a great experience.
The staff at the bar, especially the man in the cherry shirt, were incredibly rude and unfriendly. They served warm white wine and only the other drinks were decent. Overall, it felt more like a disappointing experience than an enjoyable one.
Regrettably, there are no unicorns to be found at this establishment. Sparkle Horse is situated at the intersection of Dumbarton Road and Byres Road and is a charming and vibrant pub.
