We enjoyed a lovely, relaxing lunch today! We arrived before opening after our dog walk and we were welcomed with a warm, polite service and offered a drink before the kitchen opened. We enjoyed the fish and chips as well as the pie of the day which was delicious! The pudding menu looked scrumptious, we were too full to try, though we will definitely return to try the eton mess and banoffee pie! Maybe even the lemon meringue pie Highly recommend after a long walk around Bourne Woods!
The restaurant is in dire need of an update and modernization—just take a look at the carpet in the conservatory. I ordered a "large Dover sole" at a premium price, but it was disappointingly small, more like a lemon sole. This was a letdown, especially since I remembered it being great years ago. Overall, I would rate the food a 1, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 1.
The venue is quite nice, and the staff are wonderful. I dined in for lunch, spending around £30–40 per person. The food was rated a solid 4, while the service and atmosphere both earned a perfect 5. I highly recommend trying the Fish and Chips!

I had a wonderful lunch with a friend and our dogs. The staff was incredibly attentive, providing excellent service. The risotto I ordered was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend this pub and will be returning soon!
My husband and I took our son out for a birthday meal on February 22, 2018. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!
