The Square Kitchen

I’d heard of this restaurant since it’s opening, so called ahead for a table, to be the only diners at 6pm. Food was ordinary, avacado with Southwest quinoa so hard it couldn’t be cut, the empty tables and floors very sticky and poorly cleaned. Humidity and patrons had not affected any of four other busier restaurants we visited in the past week. Our server, however, was pleasant, helpful and prompt with friendly humor and our orders- too bad good restaurant business depends on better management of the whole house. I want to give the restaurant 5 stars as it's in the neighborhood and I want to support a local business. I've been here about 6 times and early on I loved it. The food we ordered seemed to have gone downhill. All three of us thought either the lettuce or the dressing in the watermelon salad was bad. We did mention this to the server but it wasn't replaced. Burgers were good. Server Sara was very polite and friendly. I hope the restaurant steps up it's game a bit:

Always a delicious meal and a great local eatery. However, we were disappointed that the mussel offering that used to be mules frites has changed and is now with fettuccine.

Very good food in a casual pub environment. The bbq salmon was excellent as was the cauliflower appetizer.
