I was very disappointed with our Easter meal at this restaurant with my family. We were recommended this place, but it did not meet our expectations. The food was tasteless and lukewarm, bordering on cold. The only thing I enjoyed was the raspberry sorbet. I have dietary restrictions and ordered the nut roast without being told it came with cauliflower in cheese cream sauce. I always struggle when dining out due to my intolerances, so I did not mention the mistake. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I recently celebrated a 21st birthday at this restaurant and they allowed me to decorate the table. They also put up a birthday banner and created a special dessert plate for the birthday boy. The service was excellent and the food was beautiful, but they did run out of sorbet. Despite this small hiccup, I would still rate my experience a 10/10. I have visited this restaurant many times before and have always received great service.
We hired the 8 Bells (a part of The Star Eagle) for our wedding party. Lizzie, Scott and the team did an absolutely incredible job making everyone feel very welcome. After a chat with Lizzie the food was organised and on the day presented so nicely and more importantly it all tasted fantastic! Overall our experience was brilliant and they really did do us proud. We cannot recommend the 8 Bells enough and we have to rate it as 10/10!
We had a nice family dinner here. Eating was a more restaurant style than Gastro Pub both in terms of presentation and quality. The room was traditional but cozy with white tablecloths... The food was very delicious, tastefully presented and with a beautiful variety. Service was exemplary, our waiter was charming and the rest of the team really helpful. Nice for a small group or prayed.
Menu is not printed. It is on a board in the main bar so you have to take a picture of it to save hanging around an occupied table which is underneath.
This pub is fantastic. The service is friendly and efficient, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxed. The building is also beautiful.
Another great dinner, excellent food and service as usual. We are lucky to have such a good pub in the village.
