I've dined at The Statler several times, and the food has consistently impressed me. However, the service has always left something to be desired during each visit. It's not terrible, but given the prices, it should be better. On this occasion, the service was particularly slow, even though the restaurant was mostly empty on a Sunday evening. If it had been a busy Saturday night before a show, the pace would've been understandable. We experienced long waits not only for our hors d'oeuvres and dessert orders but also for water refills. Overall rating would have been very good except that the restaurant was unbearably hot. I almost got sick. Certainly couldn't stay any longer for dessert. It was around 32 degrees outside and at least 85 degrees inside. Unbearable (and a waste of energy as NO ONE felt comfortable). Will recommend with the above caveat.
The food was excellent, although we had to wait a bit for our seats. However, the waitress was fantastic, and the menu offered a great blend of classic and modern dishes. We enjoyed it so much that we're planning to return this weekend, hoping they can accommodate our son's food allergies.
Despite informing the restaurant about how special yesterday evening was for us, they made 0 effort. The food was ok, the table was average, the server did not know what we were celebrating, and it felt like a regular average dinner. Nothing fine about this restaurant whatsoever. This was our second time at Statler was again a great experience. The chef even prepared dishes that were safe to eat for a member of our party with severe food allergies and that was tasty too!
Make sure to ask for Bobbi! She is an exceptional waitress who is very knowledgeable about the menu. She'll assist you in choosing a dish that you'll love.
The food and service (Katrina) was incredible. Must have Sea scallops and Lyon salad. Great port selection. We had a lovely evening. Will come again.

We visited The Statler for my wife's birthday and it was an excellent choice! Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious.
