We landed here as the Herbarium was unfortunately closed for the day and the Alex looked permanently closed. There was only one other table with diners, but we had to wait a while to get seated. Had a vegan Brewdog IPA which was really nice then chose the vegan chilli hotdog with chips. Hubby had the pulled jackfruit sandwich, both ok, not the worst vegan meal I’ve had in a pub. There was also 5 bean chilli, a vegan dog (no chilli) and a falafel and spinach burger.
Had jackfruit burger. Jackfruit was large raw cold pieces as if from a tin, with 1 circle of BBQ sauce. Was supposed to be like 'pulled pork marinated in BBQ. £9.50. Awful Staff member offered his unrequested opinion you 've chose a bad time to be vegan , as its Christmas?! I 've been vegan 4yrs without a problem. Also asked me how I 'd be able to have a Christmas dinner with no Dairy? I said I 'll be fine. Updated from previous review on 2021-12-26
Had the Vegan Jackfruit pulled pork style sandwhich. Other options include two vegan hotdogs, two veggie sandwhiches, one of which can be made vegan, and two veggie burgers, one of which is vegan. Quesadillas, curry, salads. Lots of veggie starters, one vegan. Beers and wines not marked as veggie/vegan
Very friendly staff and a nice interior. Food was great but not cheap. We lucked out as they had extended the Eat Out To Help Out scheme so everything was half price. We had the hot dog a nice big chunky (fake meat) hot dog with chips on the side. Nothing over the top Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
It is one of my favourite places in Lancaster to eat out and chill. It's got a nice vibe and atmosphere. Food is decent, and the portion sizes are very generous!
There is a new restaurant in Lancaster with a modern and comfortable interior. They have a good selection of beer and the service is of decent quality.
Lovely food went there with a friend and it was really relaxing! Would 100% recommend to anyone that looks chicken and chorizo dishes!
