Went because the missus had seen it was a Marston's and thought it would be like the others we've visited. Disappointed that it was not. Very small premises makes that very difficult. Despite being relatively quiet, service was slow. Although there were draught soft drink options on view, only a small can was offered on ordering. Scenery setting is lovely, but the warmish air did draw out the bugs which made sitting outside less appealing. Area only accessible up some steps, which was not ideal for some of our party with mobility issues. Will suit some visitors, just not us. Parking: On road. Reserved spaces for motorbikes. They should definitely remove the "dog-friendly" sign from the window. Our 5-month-old puppy barked a couple of times, and a different barmaid than the one who served us came over and said, "That 'thing' is driving everyone crazy." It turns out that if your dog makes any noise, you become public enemy number one. We won’t be returning since this is clearly not a dog-friendly pub. It was a very rude interaction that could have been resolved with a simple, polite conversation. If she had politely asked us to step outside because our dog was unsettled, that would have been fair. We had an amazing day as a family yesterday, May 29th! The entertainment was fantastic, the burgers were outstanding, and the cheese and ham toasties were loaded with flavor. The sun was shining, and the staff were all smiling. It was a perfect day!
