We had a pleasant surprise on our walk to Bolton Abbey today as we noticed the Tea Cottage has new owners and has had a lovely refurbishment. We had stopped going there over the last six months as we felt the previous owners had let it slip and it had gone downhill. This is definitely not the case now. It is very welcoming, the staff are friendly and enthusiastic, the tempting cakes are, freshly baked. (the scones are to die for) and there is a varied lunch menu. Prices are reasonable and the coffee is good too . Everywhere is clean and fresh and the lovely open fire is an added bonus on a cold , frosty day. Of course the seating outside has the best views on the estate but it was lovely to...
After parking at Bolton Abbey car park, we made our way to The Tea Cottage for a bite to eat before exploring the grounds. As it was quite chilly outside, we were warmly welcomed inside. The menu was fantastic and the staff were very accommodating. Everyone who came in received the same friendly and professional service. The team at The Tea Cottage deserves success and I highly recommend them. Thank you for a great experience.
After a long walk we decided to call in for refreshments. Friendly welcome at the door and as rain was forecast we asked for a table inside. We were shown to delightful table overlooking the river. Lovely cream tea, dog got a couple of treat biscuits and had a lovely chat with the owner. Very highly recommended.

This café is a hidden treasure. We arrived on a rainy day with our soaked dog and were warmly welcomed by the staff. We especially enjoyed sitting by the open fire. The coffee was delicious and the homemade mince pie with brandy cream was wonderful. Thank you!
