As an expat Glaswegian we decided to visit Scotland after 30 years of absence and chose the TULLIE Inn as a chance destination. What a great bit of fortune that was. Firstly the location in Balloch is stunning, the lochs and mountains filling a picturesque backdrop and the locals could not be more welcoming. The rooms in the hotel are vast in size, a great price and the food is of the highest quality and wallet friendly. To a man and woman, the staff were incredible, and made us feel so welcome. Recently visited the Tullie for lunch with my sister, niece and nephew (they’re younger children and a high chair was required) Upon arrival my sister was organising things for my nephew to ensure that he was content and wouldn’t disturb other customers. The lady serving us with blonde hair and glasses asked if we would like a drink. I asked if there were any fruit shoot for the children to which she just responded a blunt “no”. She brought over our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. Terry and I had a great couple of nights at the Tullie Inn. The staff were friendly, chatty and attentive. We had a great comfy spotless room. The food was great, the atmosphere was great (casual an relaxed). What amazed me most of all was how the staff reacted and adapted to circumstances. Amazing examples of exemplary customer service. How do you react to a power failure just before breakfast ? Tell everybody what has happened, explain that alternative emergency arrangements have been made, apologise for the disruption, offer reassurance. We visited this restaurant for breakfast two days in a row, and the difference in service was striking. The first day, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly waiter. However, the second morning, we were greeted by a very unfriendly woman who made it clear that she did not want us there. She repeatedly mentioned that there would be a long wait because they were prioritizing residents over walk-in customers. Absolutely worst food I’ve ever eaten. 2 of us ordered mussels that were half cold in brown water. Either cooked in the microwave out a packet or terrible chef as the hunters chicken was also really bad, no flavour and hard cold fries. Plenty of other nice restaurants around the town so I’d advise to stay well clear of this one. Only plus side was the pool table wasn’t too bad.

Looking from the outside it looks very nice. The prices also lead you to believe you are going to get some quality. It was awful. Starters, mains and desserts all done in the microwave. If you’re on a holiday small break away don’t waste your time going here, you would definitely be able to make something quicker and tastier at home

Popped into the tullie inn for a sunday roast after walking round loch lomond shore's balloch country park,first class service the triple roast was outstanding, finished off with apple crumble custard!ciara who took my order was brilliant,very chatty lovely smile thank you, per cent al be back for another roast

I went to this restaurant for lunch today, and we were able to walk in without a reservation. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, with generous portion sizes. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again.

I was charged an incorrect price for a drinks order….the bar staff added a gratuity to my order without my permission.
