a small irritation.: when it was a very wet boring day, I asked that the tealight on the table be illuminated. it was done grudgingly as “we don’t normally light the up to 5pm”. they cost 20p for me to buy so they need to be better. we got the impression that we were seen as something disturbing. then we waited for about 20 minutes for someone to take a dessert order. a rather disappointing lunch.
The service was exceptionally bad. One girl was rushed off her feet with 5/6 tables by herself. We waited 45 mins for a cocktail and we have to check 3 times- on the third time the staff started making it. We were sat in a corner away from any atmosphere and just forgot about. We still tipped and did not make a fuss however I would not recommend this place purely for it’s bad service.
the greeting was excellent. the bar staff was also excellent. the waiter was polite and efficient. Unfortunately, the food was very fast served (so there is no complaining) cold. we all ordered Sunday roasts. we sent the tellers back and on their return they were not much warmer. the plates were obviously made in advance and kept warm. the atmosphere and the place were good.

There’s a very good atmosphere in the restaurant, the staff are cheery welcoming and attentive. The food is of a very good quality and there’s a good choice of options catering for all tastes.

Food very poor same duck in both salad and pizza like old boot leather inedible. Was not asked if food ok. Waste of money.
