We stopped here about 2pm as walk in customers for Sunday lunch en route from Kent home to Midlands via M40 to break our journey, after all the congestion on M25 We were greeted friendily by our waiter Manu who was very polite attentive and helpful. He kept us updated on progress with preparing our food. The atmosphere in the place was very welcoming clean and tidy, They clearly welcome families and young children as we saw severalvchild seats/high chairs and games, puzzles etc to keep them amused. The service provided by this restaurant when trying to book for 22 people for a special event was absolutely terrible. The booking process was strange and confusing, and after a month of trying to contact the restaurant, we gave up and booked elsewhere. Two weeks before the event, we finally heard back from the restaurant who secured our booking for a different time and imposed a strict 2-hour time limit. We were also told that children were not allowed, even though they were originally part of our request. While the atmosphere and food may be good, I cannot speak to that personally. However, based on my experience, I would not recommend this restaurant for any planned events.
The staff at the bar, waiting area, and kitchen all worked together seamlessly to accommodate us, helping us quickly place our food order which arrived promptly and was exactly what we needed. This saved us from having to resort to the fast food options at the nearby motorway services. Later, the manager, whom I had spoken to on the phone, personally checked in on us to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. It was clear that everyone at the restaurant genuinely cared about our experience. What more could we ask for from a dining establishment?
Had a great experience dining at the white horse. Lovely calm atmosphere, and the food was delicious. Every staff member was extremely polite and helpful, but we found James to be extremely attentive. We are looking forward to visiting again when we are in the area. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The restaurant was quiet because of the nice weather. It was our first time here and we plan on coming back. The G&T was very good, but they should know which garnishes go with each gin. They didn't have cucumber for the Hendrick's gin.
Best roast dinner we've had in a long time. Really lovely pub. Will be back to try other dishes soon. We had the lamb and the pork. Highly recommend.
Stands out in quality of food and service vs other gastropubs. They really make an effort to keep customers satisfied.
