We have been frequenting this restaurant for 3 years, but since the new ownership took over, I must say that it has become truly exceptional. It's a hidden gem that you almost don't want others to know about, but at the same time, you want more people to enjoy the great food and atmosphere of this pub. I consider myself well-traveled when it comes to dining out, and I can confidently say that this place embodies the best of what British Pubs have to offer - a wonderful experience, delicious food, impeccable service, and a fantastic setting. I absolutely love it here.
I had a wonderful lunch today with my son and daughter-in-law at the White Horse and I highly recommend it! The homemade sausage rolls are superb and fantastic. The bar has a good selection and the wine list is decent. I was a bit disappointed that there weren't daily specials, but the menu still had great options. The burger, duck, and sea bass mains were all excellent and well-cooked with generous portions. We were too full for dessert. Overall, it's definitely worth a visit - it was a bit quiet for a Saturday lunch so I can't comment on the evening meals.
What a fantastic find! Lovely old fashioned country pub with a superb kitchen and amazing staff. Sunday lunch was superlative. Slow cooked roast pork belly came with all the trimmings. Fish and chips met with similar approval. Service was exemplary throughout such a warm welcome. Highly recommended and worth travelling considerable distance for!
The staff at this restaurant are very friendly and attentive, and the food is beautifully presented and delicious. Had a really rather excellent date with my wife on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely food no hassle to swap the accompanying potato around and the home made dip with the Brixham fish starter was ‘top drawer’ combination of flavours. A great destination pub.
Small venue. Booking advised if you want to eat, as the food is excellent. Used as a local but very welcoming to all. Friendly and professional staff.
Spectacular menu, one of my favourite beers on tap, second to none service from friendly and attentive staff. I would highly recomend this pub.
