Needs a bit of bringing into the modern world. By this I mean make it simple to charge food and drink to the room. Currently this is a convoluted process each time you order something for room charge the bar person has to go and find a manager to do some sort of approval then you have to sign. The bar person then takes the ticket to reception where the reception person charges your credit card at the end of the evening. Result wasted time for customers and staff. Breakfast was good and cooked items served promptly. I read quite a few reviews on TA about the evening meals being bad. I found them to be ok (not great but ok). This pub has been our go-to spot for the past 6 years, but unfortunately, it has been on a downward spiral. The quality of food has deteriorated so much that we stopped eating here a while ago. However, we still visit because of the outdoor play area for the kids, especially in the summer. Sadly, the place has become increasingly dirty and the service has been lacking, making it difficult to even enjoy a drink. The glasses, tables, and floors are dirty, which raises concerns about hygiene. It's disappointing to see a place with so much potential being let down by basic standards. The service at this restaurant was terrible. We arrived at 11 and asked when the main meals would be served, to which they said "now." We ordered two adult meals and 2 children's spaghetti and meatballs. 40 minutes later, they informed us that they didn't have meatballs and main meals wouldn't start until 11:30. There were no apologies for the lack of communication. I had to quickly reorder for the children who were getting impatient. When the food finally arrived, we asked a staff member for some vinegar and he responded, "I don't know if we have it, I'm still in training." I will not be returning to this restaurant. I visited with my parents and we experienced a number of issues. After waiting 40 minutes for our food, my mum's meal arrived cold and dry. The staff seemed untrained and were hard to find when needed. My dad even ordered a latte through the app to expedite the process, but it never showed up. We had to inquire with the bartender after 15 minutes, who apologized and quickly made the latte, but we had to retrieve it ourselves. Truly the worst experience We've ever had in any restaurant. Ordered at 6.45. 7.30 meals come out unfortunately wrong order. Food finally arrived at 7.45 and somehow it was stone cold!! Was offered to have it heated up or a refund minus the soft drinks we'd had. Chose the latter and went to McDonalds. Do yourself a favour and never come here
Absolutely disgusting place . The place needs a very good deep clean it vile. The carvery is Absolutely shocking never seen anything like ot before all dried up and tasteless. We couldn't eat it and just left it and went over to Drax carvery . Don't waste your money or time people. Never again the food is not even fit for animal feed
Met a new manager called Matt at the Wishing Well today. We were very impressed by him assuring us that he was. looking forward to making the Pub a huge success as for such a long long time it has been going downhill. The service and the food were fantastic today. Here’s to the future and success of this pub/hotel.
