I have been trying to make a booking for 12 pensioners to get together for a meal. Should have been an easy thing to do…..not on The Wishing Well website…. Over two days I have rang many times and the phone not been answered, I tried to book through the website and received a message telling me no availability to book on line, contact by phone. After several more calls this morning, I finally got through and received the information that the restaurant was busy and there was no one to take my call !! A friend left a message on line to try and make the booking and did not receive a reply either. Another has also been phoning and trying to make the booking. This is totally unacceptable and not...
I used to feel sorry for eateries being forced to close during the COVID pandemic, and my group has tried to support them since, but to get a booking for eleven pensioners at the Wishing Well has been a major obstacle course. The online booking system doesn't work, and you are prompted to phone them. We tried dozens of times to do just that, and nobody answered the phone. When eventually a person answered, after twelve hours of repeatedly trying, she said that there was nobody available to take the booking, and to try again later. Grr! To be honest the food was OK. Local venue, burger and chips. The lighting is eye watering bright and service at the bar was slow but friendly. What really ruined this place for me? The kids allowed to run around followed by their ineffective and hapless parents. Don't get me wrong- I am a parent to 3 boys and struggled with out meals BUT wacky warehouse is next door. Please take them there and allow adults to eat in peace- not having to worry that your dear child ends up scolded from hot food carried from the carvery or covered in beer from the bar
Carvery veg was hard the only hot thing was gravy I had gammon pineapple and chips ,chips was cold gammon was okish pineapple was the hottess and best thing on plate no one came around to see how our meal was table sticky knives and forks needed a wipe over .
