Wow! What can I say? The owners and staff were incredibly polite and friendly, as well as knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! The menu featured classics like prawn cocktail and steak Wellington, which were definitely the highlights for me, along with a wonderful wine list. The restaurant itself, an old coaching inn from the 16th century, was absolutely charming.
a lunch to celebrate my 90th birthday. the atmosphere in the dining area was good, busy with many diners who enjoy lunch. my meal of the sole on the bone was disappointing, slightly dry and overcooked. the service then slowed down with a long wait for our pudding order and an order for drinks was forgotten. So, overall not entirely on the standard I expected.
I visited The Withies Inn during a business trip to Great Britain, and I absolutely loved it. We don’t have many places like this in the USA. The meal was fantastic—I particularly enjoyed the bangers and mash—and the staff treated us very well. The architecture was impressive, and the location was perfect. We ended the evening with a few pints.
This is a lovely traditional pub located near friends on the outskirts of Guildford. The food is excellent, and the service is great. Be sure to make a reservation for a weekend visit, as it gets fully booked pretty quickly. We definitely plan to return. that's beautiful, potential. we had sunday what it is roast, but they have a few things to learn about bratkartoffeln in my view and portions were definitiw not for a british pub style beano . I will go again because I have enjoyed the place very much, so I should try the more cuisiniere options.
first visit since the pandemic began, so almost 3 years, but still excellent vuisine and great service. smaller menu choice than before, but do not distract from the different food options. large prawn pil pil and tasty dover sole as special. always worth a visit.
An institution, service so personal you wonder how they do it. Amazing atmosphere, good menus in restaurant and bar, love the wine list. Also think they should bring back the waistcoats.
