the first visit in woodman inn really made it easier that they could also take our 2 small dogs. quality of food, cooking and presentation top chain. staff very friendly could not be more helpful. bbq bauch pork sharing starter, as well as I would have eaten the 2 portions themselves. mixed grill for hubby me, burger meal 10 hours boiled bauch gay for our friends; each plate a substantial meal, but important, absolutely delicious. reassuring to see local source bark meat, gloucester old spot black even local ghost available. this was a not planned visit, but will return definitiw.
Had a couple of meals here ,lunch one day ,and a sunday roast the other ,and certainly wasnt dissapointed with either.The roast beef and red wine gravy was delicous and the side vegetables were not only crisp, but flavoursome and plenty of them .my partner had the roast turkey and she too thought her food was excellent.if im back in that neck of the woods i wont hesitate to eat there again
I tried phoning all Friday and sent and email Friday 27th to book a table for a party of 7 for lunch on Saturday, they didn't pick up the phone and to date I've not received an email not even saying they were fully booked which you weren't as we walked past on our way to the fountain inn we ate with them lovely meal and they answer the phone, we are locals we won't eat with you again,
We came here in Jan weekend break in whitemead forest park and found this pub, so decided to come back again , lovely pub ,very busy this weekend, food is amazing, staff friendly , lovely pub , will be returning when we come back to whitemead , we'll done to all staff Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Such a shame as we preordered and still not got it right didn't even have pudding as staff had all gone home slow service seriously have to look at some sort of staff training it just ruined what should of been a good reunion what food we had was ok
Stayed in Lydney for a long weekend , found this gem of a pub wow ! Absolutely lovely place , just went on forever . Cocktails good , dog friendly lovely Sunday roast open all day Was a shame to leave
Welcoming staff and a pub with a warm atmosphere. The menu at the pub is more extensive than that shown on the website, which is great as long as you didn't want the pork belly!!

Great pub very welcoming, dog friendly and super value for money. Great fish finger sandwich and beers . Open fire and lots of parking.
