Walked in and they were pretty busy. As first timers to the cafe there was no welcome, no info about whether to wait to be seated or find a spot for ourselves. We hung around the door unsure and uncomfortable. The waiter, a young man dressed in sportswear, told us there were very busy, very shortstaffed (as if it was our problem/fault) and that there would be a wait. Didn’t say where, so we still hung around the door feeling like awkward, unwelcome and unwanted miscreants. Eventually he cleared and cleaned a table for us upstairs, handed us a menu and we had to find the spot for ourselves. The menu was uninspiring, we weren’t offered a drink when we sat down and the table was sticky and stil...
We were disappointed with our experience at the restaurant after waiting for 50 minutes for our food to arrive. The chicken and chips, as well as the "catch of the day" and chips, were very burnt when they finally came out. The chicken was not enjoyable at all and we ended up leaving most of it untouched. The fish also did not taste fresh, despite being advertised as the "catch of the day." There was no warning about the long wait when we placed our orders, nor was there an apology for the delay when the food was served. Flies buzzing around the tables while we waited was also very off-putting. On a positive note, the coffee was nice.
We arrived in Portaferry in the Thursday and found the pizzeria. Ordered a delivered pizza order. Pizzas were great but missed of the Jalopenos off one. Ordered as walk in 4 days later and had pizza and kebab. Would not order a kebab again as no salad and the you women who took the order was rather rude. We are in 2 times at the cafe. Food was good and service was ok. Only issue was I asked for a coke and got a cup of tea... Worth a visit if your not fussy on what you ordered
Tried the pizza shop next door on monday and have nothing but a blissful reveiw. Pizza was beautiful and i enjoyed watching the girls working making them right infront of me, the staff was warm, friendly and were full of craic. Food was a reasonable price and was very quick service. Will be back again next time im in portaferry!

I waited for 30 minutes to be served at this restaurant. I ordered a Hawaiian burger with chips. The burger arrived after 15 minutes, followed by the chips 10 minutes later. The tables were dirty and the inside of the restaurant looked nice but was actually terrible. The service staff also forgot their manners.
This highly recommended little restaurant is tucked away off the the main road near the the Visitor Information Centre. We enjoyed a well presented and very delicious Ulster Fry and afternoon lattes with yummy homemade desserts. Love the inviting, tasteful decor and friendly owner!
Our small party of 4 stopped here for breakfast before catching the ferry and continuing our cycle ride around Strangford Lough. Plenty of parking for bicycles. Great choice of breakfast, we all had something difference and which we all enjoyed, large pots of tea! Friendly staff.
I had a wonderful time at this restaurant, enjoying a tasty hot chocolate and a large slice of delicious lemon cake. The place was clean and well-kept, with very friendly staff. They also serve lunch and other meals. I will definitely be returning in the future!

Visited for a snack recently. Sausage roll was delicious, one of the best I have had. Good quality. Staff friendly. Great value for money. Will definitely call again and would recommend.
Dropped in for lunch today... good choice of food served... excellent quality and portions were large... you will not leave here hungry!
