I was delighted to have the opportunity to have lunch at this charming country tea room. Tucked away in the village of Woodford, the restaurant is located in a beautiful country setting. The outdoor seating area is quite spacious and has a lovely English ambiance with blooming hanging baskets. Despite the summer heat, the place was well-maintained. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, providing excellent customer service. The owner was hands-on, serving the food with a warm smile and engaging in conversation. Not knowing the area at all, we had moored our boat on the river and walked up the hill to the village. We saw the sign for Tiggywinkles and called in for an impromptu lunch. We chose to sit at a table in the garden as it was warm and the staff member thoughtfully put the parasol up for us. We chose sandwiches which were both served with a good salad garnish and coffees. Good food, good service and reasonably priced. We saw other people having an afternoon tea which looked very nice.
Shouldn't be writing this review.....as I don't want this place to get too busy! I'm part of a group of cyclists who make this one of our tea stops each week. It's a true find! It has that homemade feel to everything and that's what we love. And it's cheaper than many other places we've stopped at. Nothing is too much trouble more water for the teapot so we can squeeze another cup out ? no problem. Always cheerful service and usually busy. Deserves to succeed. See you next week!
Visited here for lunch. Was not busy, only two other tables occupied. Placed our order of one sandwich and two bowls of soup. We then waited 45 minutes for the food. When we asked what was the problem, we were advised they were having trouble defrosting the soup and getting it up to required temperature! I appreciate food is freshly prepared but feel this is too long to be kept waiting!

We went there to celebrate my sister’s birthday for a high tea. The welcome was very friendly and the service as faultless. More food than we could eat. Sandwiches freshly made and to order, if needed. Both sweet and savoury foods were a delight. Bottomless tea. A view to die for. Seasonal menus for those who want more than a “sandwich” . We will be back.
I recently went to Tiggywinkles for afternoon tea. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, and the setting was beautiful and filled with hedgehog themed items. It was great value for money, and I will definitely be returning in the future.
I stopped by with a friend and found the restaurant to be quite busy, which boded well in my book. We both opted for a cream tea, which was delicious but it did not come with clotted cream. The staff were friendly and overall, I think it's worth giving this place a try.
This is a lovely place to eat and easy to fine. The food was very nice but I do recommend if you like to go there I would book a table as it is a small tearoom and it can get very busy.
