On a visit to Michigan our friends took us to a place called Timbers Restaurant and Tavern. It was one of their favorite places and is now one of mine. We truly enjoyed dinner there. and it's kind of a sports pub place with wonderful hunting and fishing memorabilia on the walls. The bar has this huge moose on it that just is very intriguing and the whole place is lively. We had ribs, a burrito, a Reuben sandwich and a Greek pizza for dinner. We ordered drinks from the bar and our meal at the same time and had lively conversation as well as watched the football game. Dinner was quickly served and everything was wonderful. Timbers is the best hidden gem in Grand Rapids!! If you haven’t checked it out— the fall is the perfect time to do so!! The atmosphere and ambience are equal parts cozy and relaxing. We sat by the fireplace and had an amazing evening! We started out with the Buffalo wraps- let’s just say we also got an order to go!! DELISH!!! For dinner I had the beef stroganoff, which tasted like a meal my mom would have made as a special birthday treat (my fav)!! I’m thrilled we found this place and we are already planning our next visit!! Well done, Timbers!!!
Food was really good and the service was friendly but our waitress forgot to put in our order for the shareable and it quite the wait for her to return to take our order. we understand everything is higher priced now due to the economy and rising cost for staffing..but my dish, lemon chicken quinoa, could have been sized more proportionately for the cost. We will definitely go back as it was a good experience would recommend checking them out!
The service is outstanding And we love being able to sit outside when the weather is good (but avoid the back of the patio unless u are a smoker! The problem we encountered was that the kitchen ruined my $28 halibut which I had asked to be served moist It was hard as a rock And tasteless Had probably been deep fried Also, the turtle soup turned out to be ground hamburger soup in tomato sauce! Excellent! Our waitress was friendly, timely, and helpful with her recommendations. I have food intolerances and her knowledge made me confident I could enjoy my meal. The ribs were cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and fell right off the bone. Dietary restrictions: I am highly sensitive to gluten. I felt I had plently of options to choose from on the menu. 4 slices of flank steak a scoop of mashed potato's for $28 If you're gonna be cheap at least get my meat temperature correct. Amateur staff hasn't changed since it was built Avoid at all cost
