Unfortunately, the food was lackluster at best. I would say it was mediocre, and that might even be overly generous. The coating on the chicken breast fell right off, which suggests it wasn’t prepared properly. Eating bland, tasteless chicken is far from enjoyable. While the coating added some crunch and the chicken breast was a decent size, there was a significant lack of flavor throughout the meal.
Even though our food came out quickly, it wasn’t served very hot. I'm not sure what went wrong. The side of green beans seemed to be a mix of canned and fresh, with some light green beans blended in among the dull canned ones. They were unseasoned and we ended up with more green beans than pot...
It's exactly 10 miles from the trailhead in Council Bluffs! You'll definitely enjoy the food—not necessarily because it's the best, but because it's perfectly situated along the trail. It takes about an hour to get there from the trailhead in Council Bluffs. It's definitely worth a visit!
