Positives and negatives to our visit the staff made our stay very pleasant especially one younger man who despite being rushed off his feet multitasking, always made sure to attend to requests at a rapid pace and ask customers if everything was ok. And always with enthusiasm and friendliness. The food was of a homemade good quality mash was a bit lumpy and carrots flavourless but the cauliflower cheese and macaroni cheese some of the most cheesiest cheddarist taste ever. Unfortunately where we was sat right near a step in the dining area which led to the main food and drinks set up, this meant many customers and staff rushing directly past every second causing a draught and disturbance this...
this may be the worst experience we had in a restaurant, we asked on the line if it was possible to place 7ppl and were told, supported by the asking when we had a call to confirm our booking. at the session we were not insecure, we were not allowed 7 chairs! squashing 4 people on 3 chairs, customer service disgusted, spoken as if we were dirt! the place is dirty, eat all over the floor, the tables are sticky, I will never be back to this place.
eating good service very slow not enough staff on duty so that workers who were it were were away from their feet so they did not ask very friendly or helpful for some gravy never get it. I felt really sorry for the staff as I once made their job so I know how hard it is when short workers.
I still love this Toby carvery, the food is always mouthwatering and fresh, carrots sweet, all the meat and veg is. Gravy is lovely over mash. I think it must be the most popular Toby in the country. I'd like to know as I've tried...

A good value for money carvery. I usually go at opening time (12 noon) when all the food has just been prepared and is fresh. Sometimes go with a party of friends in the evening but much prefer lunch-time.

eating was good, waiter got drinks order wrong pint instead of half pint, coffee was unimaginable! service was good to say it was busy, will still go!
