Wandering through Corsham on an autumnal evening and we were peckish. We stumbled across this fish and chip shop. Very bright, smelt great and nice staff. We ordered and went for a short walk, on return there were about 8-9 others queuing. We collected our food and thanked our stars that we ordered when we did. The haddock was delicious, fabulous chips and the mushy peas were spot on. We will be there again if we are in Corsham.
Recently moved to the area and was told Tongs was a great chippy. Gave it 3 goes but the chips are just not that good, very greasy. Fish and battered sausages ok. We’ve been using the Chip shop on Station Hill in Chippenham ever since which is much cheaper and have much better food. I don’t know how a basic single chip shop can get it wrong. Maybe the lack of competition has made them complacent?
Up until last night, we 've been coming in for our regular fish and chips Tong , Corsham, Wiltshire) and been very pleased with their takeaways. But last night, staff all looked and seemed miserable and by the time we brought it home it was v greasy, sausage was horrible, fish and chips not as good as they usually are, but it was also cold!!!
It was my second visit, the first time my son-in-law brought some back to my house in Marshfield , they were awful but I thought maybe it was the distance they had come before we ate them that made them not at their best. As i stepped into the chip, i was wofted by the beatiful great brittish smell of salt and vinegar. The fish was perfectly battered in a golden orange batter. The chips lightly salted and perfectly moist. i have never tasted a better set of chicken chunks. amen
Beautifully cooked cod and chips at a good price and in recyclable packaging. Large portion and the fish was delicious. Easy to pull up outside for the take away. Sorry, photo is of an empty box as only decided to review once we had gobbled it all up!
Dreadful food serviced today. The fish was fine, however, the chips were inedible cold and rotten!! They should have been thrown out at the shop, not served to.regular customers.
I can't believe that our favourite fish and chips takeaway (Tongs fish and chips on 1 High St. Corsham) are rated at only 3 half stars and not 4 half or the total of 5 stars! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I’m sorry to say I totally agree with the other comments. Only ordered chips. Greasy and mushy. Great opportunity in such a small town but badly executed.
