We have visited Tonic multiple times for dinner before attending a show. It is conveniently located just a short walk away. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly waitress who promptly took our drink and food orders. Despite waiting for an hour, we decided to speak with the manager about our order after receiving numerous apologies. Shortly after chatting with the manager, our food was brought to our table. The meal was delicious as usual. We noticed that more tables had been added on the other side of the restaurant, leading us to suspect that the kitchen may have been struggling to keep up with the increased demand. It?s a lovely little bar down the street that we reside in. We have always been wanting to go there to try out the food there as it is always a bustling place filled with students from GW university mostly. We finally found a day to make it happen. I ordered the buffalo chicken tots and my husband ordered Egg Benedict. The food was good and it came with a generous amount of the crispy tots. Ambience was good as it?s always bustling with kids and there?s live music and happy
The restaurant offers delicious food and excellent service. It tends to get busy during lunch hours, but there is seating available both upstairs, downstairs, and outside. The Foggy Bottom Fried Chicken Sandwich was large and came with a side of tater tots, which are a specialty of the restaurant. It is a great spot to grab lunch before or after checking out the nearby Textile Museum.
We were so ready for a break when we found this place, and it fit the bill nicely. There is a lot of character in this building, especially the upstairs ladies room. I had the taco salad which was delicious. My husband had the breakfast burrito. It was impressive and he enjoyed it. Our server was pleasant and helpful. We recommend.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed and enjoyable. The food was delicious, especially the famous tater tots. However, I wasn't a fan of the Buffalo sauce they used. The burger I ordered was fantastic, topped with juicy and delicious pulled pork. The pictures of the food are accurate and do not disappoint.
I don't have a photo of my meal because I couldn't resist eating it before taking a picture. I regret not being able to show you, but I can't help it - the food was that good! Visit Tonic and try their burgers and tots, you won't be disappointed. Trust me, you'll have an empty plate in no time.
Tonic was one of my go-to restaurants during my freshman year of college. The food wasn?t too expensive, the tater tots are TO DIE FOR (especially the dipping sauces), and there are fun activities that the staff organizes like trivia night on Mondays (not sure if they still do this).
Fish tacos are bad with thick mayo and only the batter from fried fish...no fish, just fried batter( see pict, i could bot eat them all). Server response after mentioning there was no fish was: oh wow . The 2 stars are for the very nice exterior seating area.

Came here for brunch with a friend and loved it! Did bottomless mimosas and a meal and the prices were great! Loved the food atmosphere. It was our waitress?s first day and she was great. We?ll definitely be back!
