I went to both Tony Burgers which are next to each other and was really disappointing to see such a poor assistance. The waiters were rude, when asked if there was anything in the menu without lactose they didn't even know what lactose was, didn't bother to accommodate any request. So if you have any dietary requirement don't even try this place, I guess management doesn't provide the staff with basic training about allergens and dietary requirements. Btw I speak Portuguese, so it wasn't even a matter of miscommunication.
The one I went to was called Tony's Fried Chicken (but I gather based on other reviews it is the same owner or restaurant). Seeing the American style fried chicken on the menu was like music to my ears, and it did not disappoint. As an American, I'd say it was Better than most I've had in America. The place is small and casual, on the street. The service was friendly and fast. A good find for a bit of comfort food from home. Also, it was open very late during the week, around 11pm when I was craving a snack!
The owner runs 3 restaurants in the same street. The green one (Tony 's Burger) will serve pizzas also and everyone there is much more friendly. In Tony 's Pizza I have had too many bad experiences. Not getting change back when paying in cash (i had to ASK for my change), employes being not-so-polite, getting the wrong order and the employees there insisting it 's correct. For the green one I really enjoy it. I would recommend any of the Pizza 's on the menu. Burgers are great also.
Went to Tony 's Fried Chicken (they all seem to have same menu kitchen) for a late lunch. I ordered the 'Costa da Caparica ' pizza and herself had the 'Margarita ' pizza. They 're pizza pies as opposed to the stone baked type, both very heavy on the cheese, we both noted the spices to be hard (dried, not fresh) and mine had a huge layer of mussels beneath the cheese and hard and dry prawns (bits of shell still on) on top. This place is a classic among locals in Costa de Caparica. Its full of locals who cant have enough of their great hamburgers and pizzas. I specially love their burgers, which are the best I ever tasted. The pizzas are good, being full of ingredients on top of it (they can get you full in three slices) The restaurant is small, humble and the decoration has been the same for a long time. But its worth going there, especially to eat their amazing burgers.
I love this restaurant. I go often to Costa da Caparica just to eat these burgers. The burgers are very cheap and very tasty. It is not anything fancy or the best burger you will ever try, but they are quite good and for the price they are unbeatable. They also have nice juices made with fresh fruit and pizzas. If you are in the area you should try.
There is a lot of Tony´s in Caparica. Tony´s Pizza, Tony´s Burguer, Tony´s Chicken, Tony´s whatever... Mostly they all have the same menues and sell the same food. The burger is under average, the pizza is no pizza rahter a quiche but still tasty, the chicken is whatever chicken is. Nothing special, but fills your belly.
We wanted to have pizza to eat something safe, something that you know how tastes. This was completely the opposite. The pizza was so bad. It was overloaded with the worst ham (I guess First Price) and canned mushrooms. The crust would shame all Italian mothers. PS. My boyfriend had to throw up after the meal. TWICE. We went to Tony's Burguer as a follow-up of friends recommendation. The place is located in the center of Costa de Caparica, and the prices are quite OK. We tried the burguers (Egg Burguer, and Burguer with Cheese), both options were quite good, and the french fries are really good too. Enjoy!
