After wandering around the city for a few hours on our first day, myself and the wife were getting tired and hungry. When we came accross the self proclaimed world famous Bar Torro. At first sight it looked ok. So we sat down and ordered drinks. When it came to ordering off the menu (which has a wide range of dishes), my wife ordered the paella, only to be told there was none. So she tried to order another of the varied fish dishes, only to be told the only fish they had left was hake. So she ordered the hake, after being told it was excellent. I tried to order steak, then chicken only to be told only meat left was pork. At this point alarm bells should have rang and we should have left (aft...
Had the calamari fried. Very good. Great light coating and not greasy. There were a bunch of veggies fried in same light batter and that made calamari even better. Would have liked a sauce or dressing to go with. Also, had shrimp scampi. Very flavorful and dipped bread in butter sauce, with fresh garlic, very tasty. Jar of sangria good, a little sweeter than I normally drink. Would go back! Prices very reasonable.
My husband and I had a late, simple breakfast here. Friendly service, good prices, fresh food. We liked the restaurant and we went back for an evening tapas meal on the same day. The restaurant is on a busy street right near the cathedral. The Giraldo tower is lit up at nights so the restaurant has a great view from the pavement tables.
Lovely decor and cool inside..our waiter told some English and we decided to got for a hot and cold tapas selection. The hot selection was good paella batava potatoes Spanish omelette ratouille the cold ones were egg mayo pasta and 2 potato dishes. Nice flavours Not great value at price €28.50 includes water and a coke.

We picked this Tapas Bar because it looked typically Spanish and inviting. Whilst the food was okay, the server was very unpleasant, banged our food down on the table, didn't speak and spoilt the whole experience. We would not go back.
Churros taste like warmed up, waiter admits they have special way of preparing, probably deep frozen pre fabricated stuff, otherwise place is ok, but suggest to try another place as there are plenty next to cathedral
We had visited the Alcazar and found this place the waiter was very helpful and brought another table outside for us. The food was good and so was the service.
