This is a sad very sad disappointment for Italian food. Let me start off by saying service was absolutely horrible. They had 3 servers for the entire restaurants and that is including the manager in fact I don't think there was a manager because when I went up to ask for a manager the guy who said give me a minute 3 times said "I guess that's me". The waitress took about 30 minutes to bring us water with a huge attitude and then did not ask us if we wanted anything else to drink. Then she disappeared we had to ask someone where she was because we had been sitting for 45 minutes before she even came back to take our order and then took our order and walked away. We had to tell someone else to...
This restaurant was recommended to us by our nearby hotel.Initial impressions were very good, It was Friday evening and the place was packed. We had a reservation and were quickly shown to our table...so far so good.The service was prompt but not friendly, the waiter seemed to want to take our order with a few minutes of sitting down. However I guess we cannot complain about slow service.I ordered Caesar salad and Cannelloni, my wife and friends ordered a selection of bruschetta and garden salads and veal main dishes.Overall I have to say my meal was very disappointing. The Caesar salad was best described as 'grayish mush' ...over dressed and the romaine lettuce looked like it had been lying...
Normally I like this place, the food is usually good and the staff are super friendly and always stop by the table to say hello. Last night I went with friends to celebrate their anniversary, the waitress was grumpy from the minute she took our drinks order and worked hard at making a special night, not so special. We all enjoyed our food except My Ceaser salad was terrible, a bunch of wilted iceberg lettuce, dressing and very little else. I would normally send it back, but Grumpy the Waitress might have said something that would have resulted in ruining my friends already tainted anniversary dinner
Cesar, our waiter, was the highlight of our visit to Tosca. Admittedly it was a Sunday night and we had just arrived in Ottawa. It felt like everyone in the city had left! Cesar was attentive and knowledgeable and recommended dishes for us. The bruschetta was ok and the fettuccine with shrimp in cream sauce was good. The spaghetti bolognese was very over-seasoned. Tucked away in an area of Ottawa surrounded by office blocks.There are plenty of cafes around but very few restaurants.It has a very smart interior.A healthy mix of customers on a weekday evening where my wife ordered a fish dish and i chose a pork dish for our main courses.Food was good,although there was a wait before it arrived.Eating out is expensive in Canada.Prices in this restaurant were no different,particularly after adding tax and tips to the bill.Staff were friendly and hardworking.
My husband and I dined at this Italian restaurant. The venue is quite large, but a little dark. The food is quite good, of quality and with large portions. I ordered the tagliolini with tuna and my husband a chicken parmigiana (consisting of spaghetti Bolognese and a nice large cutlet). All of this, including a glass of wine, for around CAD 60 (excluding tip). So average for Ottawa costs. Recommended restaurant for those in the area.
We have been going to Tosca's for years but the a couple of weeks ago I had the tastiest meal to date. I usually will order a veal dish but this time I went for the Chicken Noci. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the lasagna and was quite pleased with it. However, when he had a taste of my chicken, he could understand why I was raving about it. The service was also very good.
We are never disappointed with the service and our meals. We were received like personal guest. My 12 year old was extatique because we got to sit in the white leather half moon booth. I recently had dinner here on business trip and had a bite to eat at the bar. The staff was extremely friendly and so were the other people at the bar. Had some good conversation and some good food. I was wanting some pasta and this place didn't disappoint.
