Three of us ate at Toscani's last night, wish I had looked on Tripadvisor before sitting down. First ordered a red wine, it had a sour and vinegary taste of being opened for quiet some time. What we ordered on the menu we were told was no longer available, second choice for one was a chicken schnitzel - which had to be sent back as was burnt and dried out - taken back and returned with a new one not much better, second choice for another was chicken pasta with so much pasta and two tiny pieces of chicken, second choice for the final was seafood pasta was oily and lacking in flavour. Would have to be rated as one of the worst meals I have paid for in a restaurant.
Went here Tuesday evening for dinner. Hardly sat down and staff were asking to take our orders. Got house wine both red and white which were okay. Husband had lamb skewers, which were two sticks plonked on a big plate, with not even a few salad leaves to enhance the appearance of the food. Pasta for mains okay, but needed ore salt. Lamb Shanks okay and cannaloni passable as were the pizzas. This whole dinner was pretty forgettable!, and I won't be rushing back again in the near future. Staff need the proverbial kick where it matters to get some smiles and interaction with their guests
This restaurant is usually goo value for breakfast BUT NOT ON FAHERS DAY THIS YEAR!!!They put on a hot and cold buffet which we could have done better at home.1. limited choice of hot dishes2. Scambled eggs dry and crumbly (almost powdery)3 Cheap Bacon.4. poorly presented mushrooms chopped up and watery5. Supplies kept running low, not enough serving points for big crowd6 serve yourself coffee and tea included but if you want decent brew from the machine it's extraAll in all a lousy dining experience and one that won't do the restaurant any good.
The staff are lovely the atmosphere with seating overlooking the lake is beautiful. A cup of tea and a read of the paper overlooking this peaceful site relaxes the mind. Their are turtles eels pelicans and you may be lucky enough to see the sea eagles.
