Asked bar made before we bought a drink if the coronation chickpea baguette which was marked vegan on the menu was available. She said “yes but I think it’s vegetarian, I’ll check”. Checked with the kitchen, yea we have it. So we ordered the vegan coronation chicken baguette and a drink. (Larger shandy £5). Sat down at table when bar made comes over and says “ the coronation chickpea is vegetarian and not vegan. Here V means Vegan and VE means vegan.” How ridiculous so ended up getting a refund for the food but had to drink the shandy even though I then didn’t want it.
We visit Richmond a few times a year and this place is always one of our favourite places to chill. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are all so friendly and hard working. Today we just wanted drinks with our puppy and the lady that runs the place took time to swap us to the window seat as she knows the pup loves watching out if the window. It was so busy for Sunday lunch but she had it running like clockwork and we heard so many very happy comments about the lunches. Definitely recommend you book for Sunday roast but if not she will try anything to fit you in.
What a lovely pub this is. Staff are all friendly and welcoming, they are dog friendly but also have a dog free zone (which is where we chose to sit). I had the town hall burger, my wife had the chicken burger my kids had lasagne and chicken curry the food was delicious. Great sized portions too, you definitely get good value for money! The girls behind the bar couldn't do enough for us making sure we had everything we needed. We will be visiting again when we're in the area! If your in Richmond I'd recommend popping in and having a meal!
After witnessing an abhorrent lack of customer service skills from the bar staff it some what soured our experience. The food was very decent but the ambience of the staff squabbling over ‘incorrect orders’ wasnt what we had in mind when we planned to dine this evening. What prompted me to pen this review was te sight of the customer paying children who were sat sobbing (apparently one carried a disability). I hope training can be provided to the bar manager in particular who did little but to infuse the situation further.

Lovely pub which serves very nice food and staff who are so friendly and helpful . Called in Friday when we arrived in Richmond to have a meal. No tables free so said to waitress we would wait a few minutes to see if one came available. As one didn't we left to try somewhere else. The waitress ran after us as a table came free and her colleague was keeping it for us if we still wanted to come back. Never seen service like this and to top it all the food was excellent. Well done to the girls who work there
Called in for a pint being new to Richmond and had no clue of the area. The lady behind the bar (dark haired Scottish lady) was really welcoming and friendly. She made it a very pleasant experience. Let my partner try a new beer he wasn’t sure of before we ordered. Place was quiet probably due to being a Wednesday evening and bad weather. We didn’t have food but beer was reasonably priced and surroundings good. Would certainly return. Place was clean, dog friendly and homely.
This pub was very inviting and cozy! The staff members were friendly, talkative, and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. Even though the place was busy, the staff made sure we were satisfied with our meals and asked if we needed anything else. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
I had a fantastic Sunday lunch here yesterday. The food was hot and fresh, especially the excellent meat. The staff were all very friendly and the drinks were affordable.

I entered the pub and ordered drinks before I realized that there were three dogs sitting on chairs or the back seats where customers are supposed to sit.
Excellent food and big thank you to staff who found my wallet and kept it safe. Lovely friendly place THANK YOU
